Boots for Africa Campaign

Boots for Africa (BFA) is a national campaign to help ship thousands of pairs of football boots to disadvantaged children in South Africa ahead of the 2010 World Cup. Pzazz were involved in organising the press conference that was held at ‘Complete football’, Newcastle, with ‘Sir’ Les Ferdinand the Patron of the campaign to; help raise funds, raise awareness and collect boots. The appeal aims to collect and transport as many pairs of football boots as possible over the next three years, and is the brainchild of Richard Tim’s, chairman of the world’s oldest football club, Sheffield FC. The campaign is supported by Sports Minister Richard Caborn, Sir Les and as well as a host of sports stars including Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and England legend Sir Geoff Hurst, the campaign is appealing for any unwanted boots, astro-boots or football trainers as either individual or group donations. Boots for Africa are setting up collection points across the UK for boots to be dropped off at. From there they will then be shipped to Africa where they will be distributed through community networks and local township football clubs.
